Each necklace is woven on a handmade bead loom. JR's loom was made by a friend last year; it pictures a traditional Navajo hogan [HO – GAHN], pens for sheep and goats, and maybe a milk cow.
Barbara´s loom has been adapted to her body size and arm and finger strength. It´s several inches shorter than
JR´s special-made loom. See pictures of Barbara and her loom on other pages of our website.
Eugene constructed his loom to facilitate making over a thousand "giveaway" pins to be handed out at General Conference 2024. Impressed with the pins and the homemade loom, Glenna asked Eugene how long he’d been bead-weaving. "I started when you asked me," he replied. What? I thought you´d done it your entire life. "Nope."
Each handmade necklace, pin, and bracelet is made with beads that are available at trading posts and craft stores, some close by and some nearly 200 miles from their homes. This accounts for different shades and hues of the jewelry. Because each item is handmade from available beads, colors may vary from the pictures in our website catalog.
